2008 Couples' Favorites

Last year we began a little tradition that happens to be my favorite blog post of the year! Instead of posting our personal favorite photos from the year we have asked our wedding couples to let us know their top five favorite photos and provide us a little insight into why they are their favorites and the story behind them. I love having the opportunity to do this every year, and we hope to make it a constant tradition for each new year!
We've had such a wonderful year of weddings and photo sessions, and have met some incredible people along the way! We want to congratulate all of our new couples and hope that they have an amazing first New Year as husband and wife!

Happy New Year's from Raelyn and Laura!!!

New website is up and running!

Our new website is up and is ready to be viewed! We're really excited about our new look for the site and can't wait for everyone to take a look! And we also want to thank the very talented, local singer/songwriter Kristina Morland for letting us use her song taboo. Ive been a fan of hers for some time and we are super excited to have her song on our site.

We'll be updating the blog as well to match our site in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that!

And I'd also like to wish Raelyn good luck on her travels! She's going to Thailand for vacation with her family (I'm sooooo jealous!) and will be back after the New Year.

Happy Holidays Everyone!!! Enjoy the new site!

Erin & Jeff's Engagement Session

Erin & Jeff found some time to squeeze in an engagement session during their busy Wednesday before Thanksgiving after traveling up from Houston to visit family and go wedding dress shopping. (Fun!) We started off at the fabulous and historic T&P building in Fort Worth where they will also be having their reception following their wedding in July. Now, I've lived in Fort Worth all my life and have never been inside this building and I can't wait for their wedding because it is fantastic! It has a gorgeous ceiling with Art Deco lamp fixtures and tile and marble floors so it should be very pretty. After a quick costume change we headed off to the Stockyards for more Fort Worth landmark fun. I had a blast spending some time with Erin & Jeff and look forward to their wedding day!

And we hope everyone had a wonderful Turkey Day! - Raelyn

New Logo!!!

We're excited to share with everyone our brand new logo! We're currently in the process of updating our look, and the first step in our makeover was our logo design. Amy Folkins of Dragonfly Creative Designs did an amazing job, and we're so excited to start using it on everything! She was so great to work with and gave us so many different options it was almost impossible to pick the winner. But we finally narrowed it down and here it is!

Next on our list of revamping our look is a new website, which we're working hard on to get up asap! So stay tuned for more to come!

Cris & John's Wedding

We took a little road trip out to Pottsboro this weekend, that's near Sherman, to photograph Cris & John's beautiful log cabin wedding! It was...beautiful! So much detail was put into the day, and the wedding was just so unique and intimate. A big thanks to the wedding coordinator, Emily Youngblood, for making everything go so smoothly. Congratulations Cris & John!

Colbie & Jake's Wedding - Hale Yes!!!

Two lawyers getting married at the Old Red Courthouse, gotta love it! We had a blast this past weekend photographing Colbie & Jake's wedding. It's always a pleasure shooting in the Courthouse, and we had beautiful surroundings to take their formals. Coblie's dress was so beautiful, it looked amazing on her! They had what we in the biz like to call a "first glance", when the couple sees each other before the ceremony so they can have a little time before themselves before all the festivities take place, and the photos turned out amazing! They had the 80's cover band Time Machine play at the reception, who doesn't love a good Bon Jovi tune. The cutest detail of the evening was the food! Everything miniaturized. Mini tamales, hamburgers, fries and pizza! Such an awesome idea. And at the end Colbie's aunt had a surprise in store for them. Jake's last name is Hale and she made signs for all of the guests to hold up for the grand exit that said "Hale Yes!" Love it!
