Bridal Photography Shoot at Aristide with Foster Blue

Ever since we did our first "faux" bridal session at the Stoneleigh Hotel we've been wanting to do more so we were super excited when Lucia Bitner from Foster Blue asked us if we'd like to be a part of the shoot she was working on. And we got even more excited when she told us what she was planning - outdoors with eclectic decor, a gorgeous dress courtesy of Bliss Bridal Salon, and Aristide for our location. Sign us up! Lucia did a fantastic job styling the sets, and our models Hillary and Meredith did great jobs as our "bride" and "bridesmaid". We had a great time and can't wait for the next shoot!

Lori's Bridals

Lori really wanted to get a "sneak peek" of her bridal photos so she told us it would be OK to post them on our blog before the wedding day. So Patrick, if you're reading this right now - NO PEEKING! You have to wait for the wedding day. :)

We met up with Lori for her bridal photos at the Old Red Museum where she and Patrick are getting married next month. First off, yay for indoor locations! Second, we were excited to shoot at Old Red because the building has fantastic architectural touches, great big windows for lots of natural light, beautiful iron work staircases, and did we mention it was indoors? It was also fun to shoot in a courtroom as Patrick is a lawyer. We might even photoshop his photo onto the painting in the photo with Lori sitting on the judges bench. Ha!

Brittany's Trash the Dress Session

We've been wanting to do a trash the dress session with Brittany ever since her wedding and we finally got our schedules to align just a little over a year after Brittany got married. Unfortunately it was an uber hot June day and we were worried Brittany would melt in her gorgeous but very fluffy wedding dress. Luckily the AC in our mobile studio aka the van was working great so we were able to cool off in between shots. And we got to hand it to Brittany, she was a real trooper. She did a FANTASTIC job braving the heat, watching out for poison ivy very helpfully pointed out to us by a concerned neighbor, tramping through tall grass, climbing a tree, and finally jumping in the pool! That was the perfect end to our session and we think the photos turned out awesome!

On a side note, we're looking for a name for these types of sessions other than Trash the Dress. Mostly because we don't really aim to trash the dress (Brittany's dress was just fine even after the swim) and the term trash sounds a little harsh and scary. So something more along the lines of After-Your-Wedding-So-We-Can-
Be-A-Little-More-Adventurous-And-Fun Session only shorter. Any suggestions?

Katie's Bridals

We recently photographed Katie's bridal at the home of a good friend of her parents' and had a great time! We were so grateful to have a place indoors to shoot because it stormed all day long and only quit right before the session started. Gotta love that Texas weather! It was also an interesting shoot for us because Katie is the tallest bride we've ever had. She's 5'10" and we're both 5'4" so when we show her a pose while leaning to put our elbow on a ledge Katie has to lean a lot further so not quite the same pose! We worked it out though and Katie was a great model. Her wedding is coming up soon and we can't wait!

Kristin's Bridals

We capped off a very busy weekend by photographing bridals for Kristin in Denton. Kristin is getting married near Houston but decided to get her bridals done here and we were happy she choose us to take them! We met up with her at the Texas Women's University campus which turned out to be a popular place for photos, there were a lot of other people out taking advantage of the good weather. And we couldn't blame them, the campus was beautiful, we especially loved the little chapel with the winding staircase. Next we headed downtown to the courthouse square which has tons of fun shops and lots of personality. We had a great time exploring a little bit of Denton with Kristin and wish her all the best for her upcoming wedding!

Bridal Shoot at the Stoneleigh

During the wedding off season we've been spending our time doing "faux" photo sessions at places we've been dying to shoot and with ideas we've been wanting to try out. For our first shoot we were very fortunate to have everything come together - our location in the amazing Penthouse suite at the Stoneleigh Hotel, finding our fantastic model Lesley, being able to borrow this gorgeous dress from White Gown Showroom, and having beautiful hair and makeup done by Anna Maternowski and Jenna Materre. We can't say enough good things about Anna and Jenna and White Gown Showroom...we could go on and on but they really did such a fabulous job. We had so much fun and are really excited about how the photos turned out!
